Sunrise (”Our New Day”)

I thought I’d kick off my new blog with a song I wrote… Wanna hear it? :P

Here it goes:

“I just sit and watch And marvel at your beauty.
Never fully describing What you do to me.

To feel you again Asleep in my arms.
With your cheek on my chin, And no hint of alarms.

I could stay like this For a thousand years.
Fulfilling my wish And shedding no tears.

[insert chorus - *see below*]

You seem so at peace When I hold you close
But even in this moment, I miss you the most.

I long to feel your kiss And taste those sweet lips
To spin you in dance With my hands on your hips.

But as much as I long To stare in your eyes,
I don’t want to disturb What happiness buys.

[insert chorus - *see below*]

You caress me gently Even in your sleep,
And I think it’s these things That make me love you so deep.

I feel your breath on my lips As you begin to wake,
And my heartbeat skips. Too excited to take.

When you open your eyes, I feel your warmth again
Like a sunrise, And our new day begins.”

[chorus]
I found love.
I found bliss.

I thought I’d never,
Feel again like this!

I found myself.
I found truth.

I found all I ever wanted,
When I found you.
[/chorus]

This song/poem just “came to me” recently while I was driving. It was inspired by memories of past times, dreams of passion, and hopes for the future. I suppose that I am a hopeless romantic beneath it all. :)
