Update: An Incredible Anniversary At The Taurus

I spoke with Gary Mennie, owner and chief chef, of Taurus restaurant today. He received my letter about my experience on Valentine’s Day. He did seem sincere in his apology -whereas the manager that other night did not. So, he extended to us an offer to come back and give them another shot at being our favorite restaurant and be his personal guests.

Now, that sounds like an invitation.

I told Leah that I had a good feeling that the Taurus would go above and beyond this time around. So after some discussion, we decided to go back on our 1-year anniversary later this month.

Gary assured me that my less than stellar experience before was a fluke and that they will give us a dining experience that is light-years beyond what we expect. Now, our experience on Valentine’s Day was a bit dismal, but everyone can have a bad day and I am more than willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

I am excited about the prospect of having the Taurus restaurant back in our good graces and being a place where we can feel comfortable dining and receiving quality service. I had been planning to treat my new European clients to the Taurus when they visit next, so I would like to be able to confidently do so. Oh yeah, I got a huge part of that deal I’ve been working on and should seal the deal on the rest when I go to Paris in March. Anyway, since Mr. Mennie didn’t simply brush me off and seemed sincere in his words, I have a really good feeling about them making good on this.

p.s. I took a look at Mr. Mennie’s history and his culinary experience is awesome. It is no wonder that the filet mignon I fell in love with was perhaps the best I have ever had –meaning a LOT since I’ve eaten at all the finest restaurants over the years!
